>The most striking thing to me in WWII is how as soon as Japan attacks the US at Pearl Harbor, they immediately gear up to destroy Germany. Rather than deal with Japan first and try to reach a peace treaty or territory agreement, they wanted to first and foremost stop Germany from being independent.
My guy, Hitler declared war against the United States almost immediately after Pearl Harbour. And the Americans didn't even fight the Germans on the ground until 1943.

@weaf @Arkana For me it's when Germany has its first loss in the soviet front, a week~ after decides to declare war to the US because of Pearl Harbor, like wtf does that has to do with Germany, specially when things are turning south in the sovient front...

@kamehamic @Arkana The popular theory is that Hitler hoped the Japanese would return the favour and declare war on the Soviets. I think Mongoose said it was because the US had been Lend-Leasing Britain for a long time and so Hitler dropped the pretense first that the US wasn't a party to the war and it was largely unrelated to Pearl Harbour.
