   I do think it's important to practice some measure of detachment in this world of ragebait. This doesn't mean ignorance of or indifference to the evils of this world, but it does mean you establish control over your reactions to them, rather than letting them control you.

     @wgiwf You can call it whatever you want, as there's a lot of religious and philosophical traditions that touch on this to different degrees. But yeah, that's the basic idea. Obviously detachment can be taken too far as well, but attachment is the easier and more common vice.
