     I used to be more compassionate but after meeting one too many women with the "yeah I was brutally raped by niggers in some shithole jungle but the important thing is that the experience didn't make me racist" backstory (like what the fuck I thought that was just a /pol/ meme), I no longer care.
     
     If anything the only reason I'm not buying them the plane tickets myself is that the dark comedy of it all isn't something worth paying for.

     @chainsaw_appreciator She didn’t get hurt, I would definitely have heard of that. People tended not to really harm americans in most places, not worth the attention. Everyone knows they’re the high rollers, spooking them is bad.

     But guys find that the women are sadly easy to guilt, cajole, and rape, in so many words. Particularly when they’re soft-hearted libshit collegiate chicks ‘saving the world’. No matter what, they get themselves in the worst situations and then have this weird “well he didn’t like, pin me down, but he…..I don’t know, I was scared he’d do something, but….” thing as payment for their kindness.

     It just blew me away at how they would have like, ZERO boundaries. Saw girls once complain that “we just kept finding the neighbor in our apartment, like, lol, this isn’t your place!” I damn near dragged them by the ear to the hardware store to replace their locks. At least they knew something was up.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @chainsaw_appreciator Many moons ago when I was vagabonding around Europe the grils generally stayed honest about the situations they had avoided and realized that they were opening themselves up to a lot of risk. One gal told me about a Moroccan trying to force his way into her train cabin - she had to lock it and call for help on the service intercom. In Barcelona I was down by the beach with a gril, smooching, and a pack of males came by, Spaniards so less dangerous, but I had to deploy knives and walk aggressively toward them telling them what I would cut off them. The north Africans were the worst because they would basically wait for you to stick the knife in them before they'd back off. I can't imagine how bad it is now

     @KarlDahl @chainsaw_appreciator I got a very poor view of things because I didn’t really work in tourist locales. I worked in 3rd world shitholes, so the only people coming down were either religious, students, or charities. Very many were good, kind hearted christian folk just totally out of their element, sometimes almost LOOKING to get martyred.

     The upside, is that when every american there is helping people, most are pretty respectful and friendly. There were few enough that people would keep tabs on them after I’d bring the new folks around the area and introduce them as a ‘friend of mine’, so I at least knew that most people wouldn’t give them TOO much trouble (as in no actual damage, just robbing them, kinda the norm actually).

     Helped that at the time, there really wasn’t a whole lot of money in the average american NGO worker. Nobody had fancy phones, computers, etc. to steal. Not much demand for a camera, either.

There was a Swedish girl who ended up on a bus to nowhere and had no idea how to leave. She's lucky that it was the dry season because we wouldn't have been on that road six months out of the year when we came across her just sitting there practically crying

     I remember this one guy brought his sister down to visit him, he was some missionary or something so he didn’t have private transport.
