The one thing i really dont understand about re zero is the characters are written as intelligent characters
But the world building is retarded at times like the clock system being magic (oooooooo) based on colors 6 hours longs
A problem arises when you realize, how the hell do they tell the precise time? Sure the clocks are colored, but is it half past 12?
Is it 3 in the afternoon or 2?
Is it 1:35? Or is it 1:10?
Do these people not care about precise time for work?
Then you realize the jungle ancestors of the yucatan are probably more advanced in actually telling the time

You figure magic would advance the society, not regress it to where literal jungle cannibals have a better understanding of calculating the time percisely along with chemistry
Thats also something i have a pet peeve with, you mean to tell me these people are surviving somehow without the need of understanding chemistry?

They should still be chucking spears at a scary tree not making basic advancements on calculating time, chemistry, over reliance on magic

@luithe It wasn't too bad in the first light novel volume because he seemed to finally figure out that people don't remember what he does and he has to do more than assert that others should do what he wants because he wants it. In later volumes he gets stupider.

@luithe I don't even remember any clock explanation in the anime. And I don't think people care about minutia like this when talking about world building. :thinkinghrr:
