Kaiser Permanente managed to insult me by calling to make sure I "really want" to get the pills I've needed for a week, because my coverage is canceled and I'll have to pay 800$ out of pocket.
Like, I knew that before I showed up, I said as much to the pharmacy clerk, and oh yeah IT'S YOUR FAULT IT'S CANCELED, because they are nearly a month behind on processing the fact that they've been paid and coverage should be active.

The best part is that I have had to spend 50 minutes so far waiting on the pharmacy. This is because they don't let me order prescriptions anymore over my phone or browser. You have to be on site, because fuck you.
This would be annoying enough usually, except I'm also suffering from a condition (you know, the one Kaiser both diagnosed and refused to treat) which makes me nauseated if I'm standing up too long.

So I'm hear halfway to throwing up because some fucker put code in their mobile/web apps to turn off pharmacy ordering if your coverage is canceled, despite the fact they're happy* to fill your prescription if you show up in person.
Are they just trying to kill poor people? Is that the goal?

I'm thinking of looking into other healthcare options when I get a new job, but what do you even search for?
"surgeons who will actually do their jobs"?
"pharmacies that do give you pills"?
"Healthcare coverage that doesn't go away for no fucking reason, even when you pay out of pocket for it"?
"doctors who will let you know before they give you a shot that costs 4000$ and isn't covered"?

I just got a notification (from an app that won't let me log in) saying my prescription is ready, but they were wrong about the price. It's 1000$, not 800$

They've worked out a brilliant scam. I'm paying them 1600$ a month to make these pills cost 10$ a bottle, but that's not enough.
They instead take my 1600$ and then tell me "it didn't work, maybe next month" and charge me 1000$ a bottle anyway
