   @icedquinn @modpod Yeah that’s definitely what we see it as. Similar to thumbs up / like / love on other platforms. When we have something useful to add to the conversation, we share it as a reply. We definitely don’t expect attention for tapping the star.

     @modpod I think people do this when they want to acknowledge a post but don't have anything to really say about it.

     as an experiement, i may try to just write people back and forth here,
     
     instead of clicking favorite.
     
     
     clicking favorite to me is a lot like dinging the bell at the front desk of a hotel. it demands a pavlovian response of attention from the person you're clicking therein, of their bell.
     
     i'm not into that, i'd rather just have exchanges and share information.
