@realman543 you still around to dick around in Puzzle Strike and give me feedback? It's currently 3.6mb and I think I have about half the images in.
-
@Zergling_man Night man. I will read over the rules and take a lookie loo. Any additional suggestions I'll forward.
-
@Zergling_man How do I make a deck? Is there a special place to put all the tokens and then shuffle?
-
@realman543 Ok I'm fading, I need to sleep. Night.
-
@realman543 Yeah my memory is that Sorry involves rolling dice and moving pieces, much like uh.... Ludo? As in I was of the impression that they were actually different flavours of the same game.
-
@realman543 >decks
>Sorry!
eh?
I don't really know anything about Pachisi. But I'm pretty sure it's not a deckbuilder.
-
@Zergling_man No, none of these are deck builders. They are simply games with decks of cards.
Like not decks each person gets. Just it includes a deck of cards that is used.
-
@Zergling_man TBH the only games with decks I've played IRL in years is poker and Sorry!.
BTW Pachisi is better.
-
@Zergling_man >About the same as any other deckbuilder.
Debatable. I like the ruffle shuffle and am not bothered by it at all. I don't know why people even get deck shufflers.
Well unless the cards are made out of crap. But then that's a manufacturing problem.
-
@realman543 I play a lot of deckbuilders. Mainly Star Realms since I only recently got Puzzle Strike though. It's about the same to sort.
-
@realman543 Yeah that's a riffle. The bag is much easier. (Though, Sirlin being Sirlin, he probably can riffle shuffle.)
>Pain in the ass to get the "decks" back in one piece tho.
About the same as any other deckbuilder.
-
@Zergling_man I don't know what a ruffle shuffle is, but it's when you bend the corners and let one corner of one card down then another and so on until the deck is shuffled, then you just make the deck whole again.
Although your proposed method would work easier I suppose. Pain in the ass to get the "decks" back in one piece tho.
-
@Zergling_man >It's played with chips instead of cards because they're easier to shuffle.
>chips
>easier to shuffle than cards
I wonder if this guy couldn't figure out how to corner shuffle.
-
@realman543 Corner shuffle as in riffle shuffle?
It's a pain in the ass to do, but even if you can do it, shuffling chips really is easier: You drop them in a bag and then you shake it.

@Zergling_man >I think it's related to monitor size? (But then it completely disrespects the currently active monitor anyway.)
I'm not sure, but the virtual monitor for this machine is set at 1600x900 iirc
>that's still TODO. I'm putting stuff in first.
Aight. I'll look up a summary and rule guide on the internet.
TBH a standard text box with copy-pasted text would do the job.

@Zergling_man >Error: Forbidden
>Your client does not have permission to get URL /boardgame/123607/puzzle-strike-third-edition from this server.
I wish the internet wasn't so gay.
-
@realman543 >If there's any way to modify I would do it. Unless there's a specific and good reason.
The reason is "probably a huge amount of work for what is a standard problem; I'd sooner contribute a standard solution to vassal directly" (and AFAIK there is already an overhaul of player sides in progress)
>Also the bank screen cuts off before the very bottom row. So the only way to see what the chips to is to drag.
Fuck, you're right.
The board size for that screen is actually like 3k*3k and the last chip is located somewhere around 1500*1500, but the window size is schizophrenic. I think it's related to monitor size? (But then it completely disrespects the currently active monitor anyway.)
>Finally, a help screen would be nice. I've never played puzzle strike before.
Yeah, that's still TODO. I'm putting stuff in first.
-

-
@Zergling_man Just right off the bat the password screen is a little jarring. Might want to RNG it and then just print the hidden code and tell the user to copy-paste.
-
@realman543 Oh I have no control over that. Every vassal module with player sides does it; Spirit Island doesn't because it doesn't have player sides.
-
@Zergling_man >THIS DOWNLOAD WASN'T SIGNED BY PAJEETS DOWNLOAD ANYWAY?
Yes, Firenigger. Download anyway.
God Firefox stop being gay.
-
@realman543 Just use curl -k lol. No warnings, faster speeds and better resume support.

-
@realman543 Sins 2 is like... 4gb or something. This is 1/1000th of that ツ
-
@Zergling_man I'm mostly threadhopping at the moment. So yeah.
Might take me a while to dl though that SoaSE2 dl really made my internet stop brrrrring
-
@realman543 (Also I was hoping to dick around with you in the online lobby, just like flipping stuff face-down to simulate a hand etc.)
-
@realman543 >aside from the bank issue (which it looks like you're going to solve)
Oh yeah so this ends in an unfixable bug: It will show you all the tokens in the stack, because they're actually all individual stack. There's a setting for showing all pieces or only the top one, it is set to only show the top, and then it shows all of them anyway.
-
@Zergling_man So having hit a snag I realized I completely forgot to ask what in particular you wanted me to look over. So far everything looks fine, and aside from the bank issue (which it looks like you're going to solve) I am not really seeing anything. Until I can play a game against myself (which you might want to add a "bot" or "2nd player" deck to the first players deck, in case of offline play) I can't really comment more.
