     At that point drop the mask already. Just outright say in plain writing or speech "Gamers should all become mindless consumers, they should buy my game and when I arbitrarily cut them off they should buy my next, more expensive game." It's clear this guy doesn't care at all about ownership, so why pretend like he does, why act like he actually wants to preserve games.
     Consume Software at least kept his statements consistent.
