     The trap isn't hitting the "less bad" button every few years. The trap is thinking that this is a grand ceremony that is both high-effort and high-impact, absolving you of doing anything else in the interim. And you support that kind of thinking just the same, just from the other direction, when you argue such a minor task is too much to do. Vote for the fat orange retard and still study Russian or focus on local politics or whatever your real plans are.
