     @hermit It's hard for me to pick my absolute favorite so I'll list some of the ones I really liked, which are "Elementary Dear Data" (s02e03), "Chain of Command" (s06e10, s06e11), "Ship in a Bottle" (S06E12), "Gambit" (S07E04, S07E05), and "The Drumhead" (S04E21).

     @hermit I want to like it more than I actually do. Inmo that's when Trek started to become less cerebral and more focused on action and childish bursts of emotion, though some people will say that happened further down the line.
     
     This is also just my opinion but visualizing the voice of the Borg as that severed head /queen is less interesting/frightening than
     a mechanical/distorted chorus of voices ( see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufHHzzMO7sM&t=80s)
     
     I'd still rather have stuff at its level of quality rather than what we're getting these days. Thankfully I never saw all of Enterprise or Voyager so there is at least some "new" (to me anyway) Trek for me to watch.
     
     Of course, that's just my opinion.

     @heavens_feel Thanks! haven't seen most of these, I didn't watch TNG in order like I did TOS, just saw whatever episodes I could catch as a kid and then cherrypicked some randomly from normiefiix as an adult. I'll check 'em out.

     @hermit DS9 is fantastic. I really love that one and hope we get a hi-def upscale of it someday.
     
     The less said about nu-trek the better, I think. It's funny - as fans we talk a lot about old episodes, good and bad, and stuff that was great or cringey from the old shows but no one - _no one_, talks about the new stuff except youtubers who make money by talking about how bad it is.
     
     I think First Contact has some neat moments and if you like it, you should definitely watch the Enterprise episode "Regeneration" (S02E23), in which some Starfleet researchers find fragments, and inert Borg drones, leftover from when the Enterprise blew up the Borg sphere in First Contact.
     Even if you don't like Enterprise, make it a point to see this episode anyway. You can skip the country song opening of Enterprise though.

     @heavens_feel I'm still experiencing DS9 for the first time and that's a real banger so I'm well stocked, but yeah, nu-trek is PURE soy. Just trash.
     
     Personally I'm a First Contact apologist, when I realised Jonathan Frakes wrote and directed it I was like "... okay, yeah, this is probably how Riker perceives the world of TNG, as opposed to what we usually see, Picard's perception."

     @heavens_feel Sure! I've seen a few eps of Enterprise and enjoyed it, but decided to work through shit in order.
     
     And yeah, the only "fans" who like nu-trek are brainwormed people looking for their dose of Yas Queen.
     
     I admit though, I truly enjoy watching RedLetterMedia talk about it. They're hilarious and their criticism of it is spot on.

     @heavens_feel @hermit they're not gonna do it because the TNG HD release took ways less work than DS9 would take (all the sfx would have to be redone) and it wasn't profitable.

     from one of the guys that worked on the TNG HD release. It's possible they just don't think they'll make their money back. maybe the business case of it have changed in six years though. I hope so, I would love to see it.
