@Roscoe correct. in the bigger picture, the historical formally religious understanding of jew (always top down, the People knew jews were racial and rats), was giving way to a scientic understanding of them as a having traits and being a species. their belief in 'jesus' is a red herring, as is catholicism - which is why jews created it / dragged it in the first place. as marcus eli ravage points out.
