Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:00:08 JST Alex @marine @netdoll I saw some utterly deranged radical feminism last night and it's still boggling my mind lol
Tempted to post it but I'm 100% sure it'd start drama and I'd end up with 100 muted notifs again -

Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:07:10 JST Alex @netdoll @marine The hilarious part of that is that etymologically, "man" refers to our species, the prefix "wo-" is a feminine signifier. It's true that over time we've lost the masculine prefix "wer-", and sure, that probably IS due to patriarchy. "Werman" is no longer the word for a male human. The prefix persists only in "Werewolf," which ironically is now used to refer to female lycanthropes too. The proper word should be "Wowolf" which admittedly, sounds hilarious. -

Aeder (aeder@stereophonic.space)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:08:54 JST Aeder @netdoll The whole 'e' ending for neutral gender words is mocked relentlessly by Latinos because, among other things, it's so dumb and poorly thought out that it actually causes grammar issues in Spanish.
Latinx is more of the level of "98% of Latinos never heard the term in their lives, and the 2% who did fucking hate it".mental meltdown likes this. -

mental meltdown (netdoll@ryona.agency)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:10:18 JST mental meltdown @Aeder Oh I'd believe it, I'm just pointing out that lunatic Marxists like it because it at least flows better. Anyway the actual solution to this is to realize that grammatical gender isn't personal gender and use whichever fits you best. -
Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:11:22 JST Alex @marine @netdoll "feminism" is such a broad school of thought that I don't feel it fair to address it as a whole, but I do think that trying to eradicate patriarchy through cultural engineering is a lost cause.
In history's more functional societies, men and women had different roles and domains, but there was a balance of power. Consider Viking women holding the only keys to the house, or the popular play/legend of Spartan women withholding sex from men as a form of leverage. The interplay is as old as time and trying to "solve" the apparent power disparity resulting from millennia of Abrahamic trash by erasing gender essentiality altogether and making everyone a good worker bee is a waste of time.mental meltdown likes this. -

Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:16:02 JST Alex @marine @netdoll I should clarify that Not All Feminists can be shoved into this camp, I've met some who actually do advocate for healthy feminine archetypal relations.

mental meltdown (netdoll@ryona.agency)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:16:35 JST mental meltdown @marine @hermit Pretty much all accelerationists are like this for better or worse and it has little to nothing to do with feminism. -
Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:20:48 JST Alex @netdoll @marine I'm sympathetic to some of what Land has to say for sure. i feel it's obvious that technology progresses faster than society, and that we cannot rely on the ruling elite to ever properly adapt society to technological progress. We could render labour obsolete with machines and we'd still have overlords who find increasingly deranged excuses to force proles to "go to work" (for just enough "money" to survive.)
In this sense I understand the core of accelerationism: the notion that we might as well get all the dogshit over with and rush to a point where existing societal structures become unsustainable.
But it's not like I've read Land myself, I'm just familiar with SOME of his core notions. Bluntly, I don't really read philosophy. I prefer psychology.mental meltdown likes this. -

Alex (hermit@hermitmountain.top)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Mar-2023 02:27:23 JST Alex @marine @netdoll I enjoy a fair bit of classical philosophy, and I maintain that A Critique of Pure Reason is a banger (TOTAL HYLIC DEVASTATION.)
