   Who said I'm using the proprietary driver? I am using zero proprietary drivers. I started using the nouveau when it started being able to actually run X (meaning several years after it started claiming that it could run X).

     @MK2boogaloo @Suiseiseki I don't know how the proprietary one runs nowadays but the nouveau driver is still not as good as the last version of the proprietary driver that I ran. But I don't trust NVidia and I don't like running proprietary drivers and it is easier to install nouveau (I press "Y" in menuconfig instead of having to download it from a website).
     
     I could have sworn that we had the Linus shooting the bird imiji but we don't so I guess this will have to do:

     @MK2boogaloo @Suiseiseki @p nouveau, when i had the misfortune of using it, couldn't even fucking do opengl mode in doom properly rendering all particles as cum and making weird pixel raves on textures
