So something weird has been going on with my Linux phone. My cellular service only allows me 5 GiB of hotspot data a month and they are strict about it, once you hit 5 gigs it stops working.
However this month... it hasn't stopped. I've been using my hotspot daily streaming video and downloading for almost 2 weeks, and have not been cut off. Im not complaining but Im wondering whats going on.
I just recently flashed my modem firmware with a FOSS alternative, so I don't if its on my end or on their end. Either way I can shitpoast and stream on my other devices at home now unlimited, until somebody pulls the plug on me lol.

@curiousthinkerunderground Because the pinephone does not use hotspot data at all, its only using your regular data.

@curiousthinkerunderground Hmmm, no idea but thats cool.

@dcc But it did in the past, when I was using both the stock firmware and the FOSS firmware. Maybe the new update to the FOSS one fixed that. Biktorg is a G!!!

@dcc Im not bullshitting you, once I went over 5 gigs the hotspot would not work. It has been that way for years nows.
