   My extremely old (probably ~40yo) mini horse died last night. I had actually scheduled his euthanasia with a vet, but he had his own ideas about the timing. He found a very comfortable spot in the barn, laid down on some hay, and passed peacefully.

   He lived in a petting zoo for many years. I only owned him for 2 years, but he enjoyed slowly wandering around my farm, enthusiastically accepting senior horse kibble whenever offered, and always accepted hugs.

     We had intense thunderstorms all night. I was woken up multiple times by incredibly loud thunder (doesn't look like anything nearby got hit... but that's what I thought for several hours before the fire department came to put out a smoldering 1200 lb hay bale a couple years ago...so we'll see)

     But we got 2 inches of rain! We needed that rain so badly.

     And I harvested the very first tiny (but delicious) tomato. This is the latest we've ever had the first tomato 🙄
