@kaia the clothing thing is frustrating as fuck, even in the USA there are events that have a dress code. And every time I have attended one, there was at LEAST one person who deliberately defied it because some Americans consider a dress code to be a disgusting violation of liberty.

@sun @kaia well for one 'friend' doesnt mean anything in america. over here it just means someone you are not immediately hostile to.

@leyonhjelm @kaia @sun I don't really understand what is so bad about dressing formally, actually dressing well and at your best. Except for the unwanted attention it brings.

Dress codes wouldn’t have to be specified if people had enough basic respect for their hosts and those who invited them. Instead you invite them and then they ruin the event by having no social graces regardless of whether they even read the dress code they didn’t follow.
I don’t bother with “society” events of any kind for this sort of reason
