   @lord_nougat @tyler use torguard (code jannyduty for 50% off for life) they provide socks5 proxies with your account for free for the purpose of torrenting. they max out my multi-gigabit setup and then you don't have to keep a vpn connected for that specific reason

     Changing power settings to let it turn off wifi to save power made it reactivate the wifi adaptor. Totally nonsensical.
     
     I have to use vpn for torrents otherwise my ISP will send me nasty cease and desist letters. Considering the decent bandwidth and all the static IP addresses I get, I am willing to tolerate that from them for the reasonable price they charge. Since it is like a professional business ISP, having fun with it surely stands out as suspicious activity... blah.
     
     Sorry, venting. I am just so burnt out on all things sysadmin related. Thanks gay job!
