Are all DE independent of distros usable? Which are coming/originate from a(which) distro? Are DE different depending on which distro they run? DE seem to me to be more important for a beginner Linux user than the distro itself. I also prefer to install/add software after I installed a "bare minimum" OS. I would like to have a table comparing distros with there integrated parts. Linux kernel main -
