Around a year ago a doctor/scientist/engineer went haywire and attacked a class of kids. One kid was stabbed before her teacher jumped on him, acting as a human shield and protecting the rest of the kids. Then a passer by (Warren Donohoe) jumped in, wrestled the attacker to the ground, and neutralised him.
After that an assorted group of passers by showed up. A brazilian food delivery driver came over and hit the Algerian with his helmet. Some woman intervened to stop him beating him to death and a philipino nurse began administering first aid (stories unclear whether to the child, teacher or algerian).
The government and press reacted by stonewalling the incident, only giving the vaguest details. Later that evening there was an impromptu protest. The police were unable to deal with it and retreated. Given that that area is the most "enriched" in Dublin riots and looting quickly followed.
The next day the media chose to focus exclusively on the riot, completely ignoring who was actually involved and why the protest had happened in the first place. Meanwhile the pajeet Taoiseaċ realises he can't just sweep it under the rug like he normally does, so he formally recognises the brazilian driver as the hero who saved the day, invites him to the Oireaċtas and someone sets up a go fund me that nets him ~€500,000.
Naturally he goes home to enjoy his newfound wealth, but then he comes back a few months later to try to become a politician in that area (the electorate shitcans him).
Meanwhile almost no one knows Warren Donohoe's name. The press/guards refuse to release the name of the Algerian and play silly games trying to pretend he's Irish. The girl is still in hospital (she got to visit her home last week) and I think the teacher has recovered from her wounds.
