     @coolboymew @tk @icedquinn I mean, all of those are essentially consumables on mice, especially the feet. Having an extended subscription warranty would be nice and better alternative to just retiring the mouse and buying a new one while 95% of it is perfectly fine. Yearly feet refresh might be good for people who just grind the poor rodent into the ground until its bottom gets scraped.

     @tk @icedquinn sounds like a scam, especially for a mouse. Even for a more expensive mouse, it simply shouldn't break that easily. There's nothing to upgrade on a mouse too, unlike a PC

     i kind of wondered about something like this but it being like
     
     you pay us an ongoing warranty fee and if it breaks we'll repair it. just pay us to keep it going and we no longer have to be in this adversarial relationship where i try to find the shittiest i can build it so you pay me again.
     
     didn't work out what happens if you stop, though. like if you would be allowed to pause and resume the subscription or not.
