I'm noticing a trend and wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I am known in my circle for giving gifts, little surprises for no reason other than to brighten a day. Here's the trend I am noticing, people don't say thank you anymore. They don't even acknowledge they received anything at all. I have to track the package to see if it was delivered. It kinda sucks and makes it not fun anymore 😕

My best friend is literally a millionaire. I've been gifting her 10 dozen eggs a month for 2 years. When the eggs slowed down during winter, she started paying a lady from out of state for eggs. It's like damn lady, you could've thrown me a thanks for the eggs text. Now she wants me to come do her taxes for her. Fuck that nonsense. Do em yourself! -

I grew up where charity was how communities thrived. Now its handouts.

I know it does me and I don't have to pay anywhere near as much probably. Then again some wealthy know good [legal] ways to dull the pain and end up paying far less. -

Honestly I agree with that but because I am the bookkeeper for her husband's construction company and manage all their finances, I see what they really spend their money on. If they would reign in their Amazon and golf expenditures, you wouldn't need a salary that taxes you 70k a year.Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this. -

It is a lot. I have told them 100 different ways to reduce the tax liability. Ya think they've done even one of those things?
Here's the other thing that pisses me off on that personally. He doesn't want to pay the $200 a year for quick books to do payroll for employees. So he forced us all to go 1099 and now instead of a miniscule amount of taxes being taken from our checks, were left with the burden of paying taxes at the end of the year.Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this.
