Series and movies that drop on streaming have less impact than the original Battlestar Galactica even if they cost 10X as much per hour adjusted for inflation.
The reason? Access. In 1978 98% of homes could watch Battlestar Galactica for free on broadcast.
No streaming channel has more than 33% clearance.

@judgedread I remember hearing recently that Game of Thrones during its peak had something like half the viewership of an average Fraser episode from the 90s. Not sure it that’s true but I chose to believe it.

@DW2 It's absolutely true. Game of Boobs would have been cancelled after six episodes if it had that small an audience on broadcast before 1990.
