Because all of history, according to anti-Christians and Christian fools, has to be interpreted within the Hegelian evolution of conscience framework and all of history is man going through religious motions before becoming heckin' awesome secular humanists late 1600's onward.

Nothing has been more damaging to modern knowledge of the humanities, especially theology, than academcisim, credentialism, post-Russell rationalism, and intellectual idolatry.
I'd argue it has ruined STEM too, but that is harder to explain in simple reply post.
