I wanted so hard to like it but the story is so scatterbrained in an uncharming le reddit random humor way, and virtually all the humor falls flat. The gameplay isn't even that inspired, the whole hat changing gimmick to switch abilities seems pointless and cumbersome, you spend 98% of the game just jumping and diving anyway.
   
   Based on the game's humor and unhinged sense of self I wasn't surprised at all to learn the devs had trooned out. Especially when I found a tone deaf, creepily inappropriate Easter egg in subcon forest that was a book that said something like "the positives of capitalism" and then says "the pages are blank". I was immediately like oh this game is clearly made by sheltered communist faggots from San Fran.

     Well, I certainly wear much less of one on here than anywhere else :smug: , but I just mean that if I were to admit to liking something like, IDK, Celeste, or Hat in Time, or Homestuck or something like that that's "problematic", I'd have niggas chiming in to explain why ACKSHUALLY I shouldn't like those things cause of the trannyshit! That's what I mean, I get saying "pirate it and don't give the devs/creators any money", but some people take it to the point of "you can't enjoy anything that isn't in ideological lockstep with you", if that makes sense.

     I remember after the 2016 election, I had a friend, a lesbian, who was going off on Facebook about the end of gay rights and on and on, multiple posts.
     Finally, I commented, hey, it's not the end of the world, nothing like that is going to happen, just like how "patriots" weren't rounded up into FEMA camps after Obama was elected. The president doesn't have that kind of power.
     
     We had been friends for 16 plus years, and just like that, she blocked me, never spoke to me again. All because I said that it wasn't the end of the world for gay people.

     You know, the worst thing about the modern world in general is, I think, the way that literally every aspect of our lives has become part of tribal political bullshit. :akko_weary:
     
     You're no longer allowed to disagree with the majority opinion in any way, lest you find yourself exiled and your memory expunged by people you thought were friends five seconds ago. :zt_sad:
     
     And of course, you can't just enjoy anything either without first justifying it in some convoluted ideological framework. :chino_angry:
     
     People can't just look at these Foobs and like them without having to justify that they're "based" or whatever first, it's just so damn tiring.
