   Would people use a paid YouTube alternative that doesn’t have ads? Something like Netflix but a Spotify payment model ($X monthly sub and money split based on which channels you mostly watch).

     YT premium gives you access to the exact same content but without ads, there is no exclusivity and you can unlock the #1 feature with the uBO browser extension.
     
     I know linus tech tips tried with floatplane but that was mostly tech content which is a small niche.

     @MMS21 i do think the idea is cool, i donated a dollar per video through patreon before and would do so for cool creators (if they use a better platform than patreon)
