   What is it with cuckolding and demoralizing in so much anime/manga the last couple years. Even those aimed at teens meant to be uplifting or fun. It’s like the culture’s media wants its youth to go extinct or give in to despair, to accept becoming nothing and dying off. It must be the “”Western””/ global “influences” on Japan, since anime & manga were rarely ever like this in their themes until somewhat recently. :blobdisgust: in fact, most Japanese media was the opposite than “”Western”” themes and that’s one of many reasons why it was so popular overseas.

     @diff My Hero Academia ended. A series for young men and this is (basically) the ending (parse it through a memetic lease). This isn’t the stuff a bunch of youths should be reading at the end, especially considering the hopefulness of 90% of the rest of that series - like how it started. It’s as demoralizing and destructive an ending as the Attack on Titan ending.

     @RehnSturm256@shota.house what brings this up? All the manga I've been reading lately has been pretty lighthearted and positive. I guess there was one I was reading recently that seemed like it was gonna go exactly like you say, but it made a surprising turnaround towards a more heartwarming and playful direction somewhat early on.

     @diff @RehnSturm256 hope fans make a fan animation where Deku goes Dark mode anti-hero and murders half of society and at the end as he's tearing up his bully the title credits go. "See, bullying does work" then as the credit's roll there's a sunset at the beach and then a matsuri festival and fireworks at night and Deku walking down the lonely road, the only road he ever known, he doesn't know where it goes, but it's home to him and he walks alone.
     (Never watched MHA, just thought we need more joker movies.)
