   'Hollywood has not recovered from the pandemic (in part because pandemic closures were followed by two lengthy union strikes against studios). Ticket sales so far this year in North America total $4.3 billion, down roughly 35 percent from the same period in 2019, according to Comscore, which tracks box office data.
   
   'As studios try to climb back, the heartland represents a specific opportunity. Ticket buyers in red states were the fastest to return to theaters after the pandemic, while those in coastal cities were the slowest. Some large markets, including San Francisco, have not fully recovered, according to studio distribution executives.'

     @brokenshakles I was already getting fed up with poor projection, rude audiences and leftist messaging before coronahoax. Once I got used to watching everything at home I lacked motivation to go back.
     
     I used to see 10-12 movies a year theatrically. Now it's two or three, and they're mostly foreign films like Godzilla Minus One.

     @judgedread It's going to get worse, Coronahoax broke the viewing habits of the upcoming generation, setting them into alternative behavior patterns.
     
     That is a subtle, but major, asset to lose (power of habit + mindshare). I predict a final decline of modern Hollywood which will be driven by the boomer die-off. This is just trying to stave off the inevitable. That's not to say a new Hollywood wont emerge in the future, but the current one is cooked.

     @laurel @judgedread There is a problem, it's not the age of broadcast television anymore, and the audience is not captive in the same way it used to be.
     
     Already, they are hitting serious roadblocks trying to regain their old traction, the new operations are too new, and the extra scrutiny is knocking out "stars" before they can become truly useful in a mass propaganda sense.
     
     Not to mention that these operations stink of "something off" on the surface in a way that genuine creators do not, which is a juxtaposition which is poisonous to the growth of new contenders.

     @InvictusManeo The industry already ran off a cliff. The series of White skewing movies that hit this year are the result of course correction.
     
     Notice no nigger lead or girlfriend in Twisters. Deadpool and Wolverine are legacy White characters.
     
     Coming up Mandalorian & Grogu is 3/4 White behind the camera (Filoni is 100%, Favreau is half jew)
     
     Ironically Din himself is 'half White' in that Pedro Pascal does the voice but the suit is worn by John Wayne's grandson!
