@sim @ResidentEvil @sknvlv @adiz I gave it a thought over a glass of wine why you government behaves in this kind of schizophrenic way. Basically, it's a zugzwang.

Your government can't do nothing here, because that means they sort of support this invasion by turning a blind eye on it. This might just upset countries like Poland and Lithuania, that have historic ties with Ukraine and who are currently in NATO and EU. On the other hand, Europe in general seems to suffer from an upcoming economic recession caused in huge part by covid, or rather, by how it was handled, and therefore cannot fully commit to a war.

So, making lots of symbolic gestures is the only choice here, like throwing in some armaments (but clearly not enough to turn the tides) and supplies. Also, Ukraine seems to have won the sympathies of the people, so the government clearly tries to use this for its own advantage.
