@hermit @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise The salvific work was accomplished on the cross, the three days were solely the prerogative of defeating and despoiling hell once and for all. (not to pry too much but what you posted upthread is an interpretation that genuinely irks me)
-
@hermit @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise I can't speak to a certainty about it not existing, but it not holding any real and ultimate power over the world and the souls contained therein, yes, absolutely I would argue that.
-
@netdoll @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise So let me get this straight. You believe that due to the Passion of the Christ, Hell no longer exists in any potency at all? For anyone? And thus, nobody is sent there?
-
@hermit @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise Whatever allegories and warnings may exist in scripture, people who turn away do so for as long as they are rationally able and then when such a position is no longer able to sustain itself they claw their way back. There is eternal punishment in a sense because they don't share the exact same communion as those of the blessed, but they are made in God's image and are connected to him all the same. Christ died for the sins of all, there can be no ambiguity about that.
-
@netdoll @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise Then what happens to those who reject the Abrahamic god? What happens to those who "sin," who turn others away from it? What happens to them when they die, and what happens to them in the "second coming"/rapture/whatever?

@hermit @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise
"So you're essentially arguing (...)" Yes, you're reading that correctly. More specifically, I'm arguing that the choice exists in theory but that it's rationally untenable to sustain forever because no one can hold on to death when they are created in the image of God.
"What's the difference?" Guilt.
-
@netdoll @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise So you're essentially arguing that it is in fact impossible for a person to turn away from the Abrahamic god at all?
Also this line interests me:
"There is eternal punishment in a sense because they don't share the exact same communion as those of the blessed"
What's the difference? Be specific.

@hermit @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @BenChampagne @n3f_X @riserise Yeah I can't imagine my position is a very popular one lol

@netdoll @BenChampagne @MischievousTomato @blaaablaaaa @n3f_X @riserise (Also it's always funny to see people who can't argue resort to emoji reacts in support of those who CAN argue, even when the arguments made don't support their own actual positions. So long as it opposes whoever they were arguing with it's good enough LOL)
