Still on X? Without notice, X has opted all users into training its "Grok" AI Model. To turn off this setting and stop your "posts, interactions, inputs, and results" from being used for training and fine-tuning Grok, visit https://x.com/settings/grok_settings and uncheck the checkbox.
Being cynical, it is possible for X to make it so that opting out for data collection on their platform won't actually do anything at all (except for poviding an aditional datapoint about your preferences to the company).

@eff That seems like a REALLY bad idea. There is just so much wrong and biased information on X, I can't imagine any of it helping an LLM improve it's accuracy.

@eff I've seen people recommend to simply opt-out from Grok telemetry, delete the app and use X from the web client. Many may already know this approach is sub-optimal, but, for the few who may still not be aware of it:
To prevent X from collecting your data, using the web client rather than the app only helps to reduce the amount at best, the app might collect a little more data than the web client overall, but not by much. The data they want the most is usually collected from the server side.
