   i really wanna experiment with OSes that are properly OUT THERE in the entire conceptualisation of how to interact with the system itself and all inferno does is like, develop unix. not that its a bad thing

     It has streams, and some of the fundamental operations you do on bytestreams are going to come out the same: cat, grep, things like that are going to either exist or shake out in a similar way.
     
     It is not remotely like Unix, though, or I'd have no reason to use it, because my computer already runs a Unix.
