@errante If you want something psychotic and weird, you really should try getting it to boot a Forth environment, build it from the ground up. Comes out as weird as you want it to be, and it's already kinda weird: it's like if you tried to mix assembly and Lisp.
You could probably do some minimal weird stuff; I really like generating video/audio.
I don't know anything off the top of my head, because I've never had one. They seem to want it used for little games, which is cool if you are into that.
There's a lotta stuff you can do with a small, portable screen, especially one with a keyboard and storage attached. What's the battery life like?
Adcon pin is interesting. You could have it plot something. Maybe even mini-oscilloscope.
It has enough GPIOs to drive a lot of simple stuff. You could probably get it to function as a serial terminal.
I think, like, there is always bytebeat in terms of small programs that do really fun shit.
@p ive def wanted to experiment with computing environment stuff for a long time. rn im like, CONCEPTUALISING a wild linux distribution that fits my need for a linux distribution to be PSYCHOTIC AND WEIRD
@p oh totally but i meant that linux distributions are supposed to be slightly insane and unhinged and kiss was frustratingly cohesive and beautifully designed in a way that made a system that made perfect sense for itself. the thing that KISS managed was horrific, but kiss was a diamond
@p i used to run KISS Linux for a while and i maintained over 100 packages for it and that was super nice as like a prime example of Conviviality In A Tech Context but also it was super fucking well designed and didn't do any stupid or retarded shit that you had to learn
