This is your scheduled reminder that Othering starts with the turning of adjectives into nouns. Turning an adjective into a noun changes it from something that describes one aspect of a person, a whole human being, into something that is the defining characteristic.

Any such attempt to put a person into a singular category as a way to separate them from the dominant group as ‘not belonging’ is an abuse of power.

The Blacks, the Jews, the crazies, the cripples, the gays, the transgenders, and so forth; separation is the first step towards subjugation, and eventually extermination.

Examine your language, and resist this.
