     @vic @JollyR @boeswilligkeit I don't think I would have any problem getting through it. but it's a huge time sink and the opportunity cost is real, while doing absolutely nothing for my career

     @deprecated_ii @JollyR @boeswilligkeit If you have the time, money, interest, attention span, ability to persevere, and can get admitted to the program, do it. Don't worry about the investment unless it would cripple you financially (then it's not worth it). It's more about the achievement, and not even for bragging rights, but just one of those things you can point at later on and tell yourself, "I did that, and I can do this too."

     On the other hand...The kids who go to college, stay laser-focused on a technical degree, sit in on the required humanities bullshit courses but just say/write the necessary propaganda to get through without buying into it, those are the diamonds in the rough. Rare, but they do exist. The "problem" is that they are almost always straight white Christian males, the very enemy of the system.

     @deprecated_ii @boeswilligkeit They do, but they also keep extremely high standards, and one does not simply "get a degree from GT." Though even that may be changing, not for whites, but for the Chinese and Indians who come over with copious amounts of out-of-state tuition. Perhaps professors are willing to make some concessions on student quality when the incoming dollars help buy fancy new GPUs for training gay lobotomized LLMs.
