   I think the feds approached Moot with a "plata o plomo"-esque bargain to turn 4chan into the honeypot it is today. He was either going to surrender the site to their glowie asset voluntarily for a payday or they were going to set up a framejob to put him away for a long time. Can't say I blame him for taking that deal if I'm right.

     Yeah I don't think he's still working for Google, but the do-nothing position at Google may have just been a plausibly deniable way of paying him off.
