@abner @Hoss The US is very casualty averse since their experience in Vietnam (lots of casualties + unpopular war) and the first Gulf war (extraordinarily few casualties + popular war). The last 20 years in the middle east only saw like 6000 dead. The last 30 years have created a breed of military leadership that don't really understand what they'd be facing in a conflict with China or Russia, let alone a well-funded and organised paramilitary like the Houthis. People say IDF wear diapers, I think they'll start seeing them in US kit too.
