Seeing that certain anime has themes like overthrowing a corrupt world government (One Piece), same-sex relationships, overt or otherwise (Maria-sama ga Miteru, Strawberry Panic), etc., is anime in general truly "conservative"?
Claims of mangaka like Tezuka being commies are most likely unfounded tho-

It's a sign of brainrot when people feel the need to shove an entire genre of visual storytelling into the boxes of one political camp or another. Anime as a medium can tell any kind of story, at any point on the political spectrum.
