@nixCraft the fact that i’ve experienced this so many times is a wakeup call to go AMD.
@nixCraft Real linux users: uninstall Nvidia driver, reboot. Install new kernel, second reboot. Re-install Nvidia driver back, third reboot. And the system is working fine without any issues. Done.

@nixCraft use nouveau driver open source else u must use DKMS to build kernel after each update
@nixCraft what distro, unless it's a rolling release. I don't see the point in upgrading the kernel unless you need it for something.
