I think the biggest problem of AI is job automation and labor replacement. Technology disrupting the traditional workforce and labor status quos was inevitable, but AI has grossly accelerated this process without giving us enough time to adequately address things.
Intuit just laid off 1,800 workers for AI. Companies saturate the market with ghost jobs they never intend to fill. The labor market is in a woeful state, wages are down, but corporate profits remain strong. Why are these companies being allowed to profit and gain at our expense? Treating us, human beings, like disposable commodities? What social responsibilities and obligations should these companies have to civilization when they terminate positions for automation? Because, every time they do this, they actively damage the economy and the hurt the nation which hosts them.
