     ok i can explain

     1. i wasn’t complaining that it was slow actually, it was just a plain statement
     2. i mistakenly thought it’d respect the MAKEOPTS envvar in /etc/portage/make.conf, which i’ve set to -j2 btw, until 5 minutes in that i realized “wait, why would it be? it’s just a regular make command, it has nothing to do with portage”

     Look into sys-kernel/gentoo-kernel-bin or whatever its called, its their precompiled kernel. Also look into gentoo binary packages as they have a binary repo now (you can even mix and match compiled and binary packages)

     well anyway i just recompiled it (cuz i missed out on some configurations) and it’s done in like 3 minutes or so, so again i’m not complaining :shrug:
