@icedquinn Weak copyleft licenses are useful if you want a copyleft license but you use a library that uses a GPL-incompatible license and there are no alternatives to said library. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

    @riellepeddler@kind.social the GPL family still have their place, but IMHO they have (or should have, given that the alternatives are better) ceded some ground to these two licenses in particular. The MPL is nice because it addresses vendoring and is easy to comply with, something I like about the EUPL is that it's officially translated into many languages, and an advantage of both is that they are much easier to read, understand, use, and comply with than the GPL family.
