     @Shadowman311 @dubbub It looks like he had a massive right hemisphere stroke and needed an emergent hemicraniectomy (taking a large segment of the skull off to allow the brain to swell without crushing the brainstem). His speech centers are almost certainly on the other side (left) so he will still be able to speak, sadly. He may have some residual left-sided weakness.
     
     They replaced the bone flap they took off with titanium mesh.
