     @nixCraft Absolutely not! A lot of software today seems to be designed specifically and only for idiot users, hiding complexity without resolving it (which is often impossible without reducing functionality and thus unwanted). This trend _creates_ idiot users because the possibility to recognize complexity and learn how to deal with it is taken away from them. This is often wanted by software companies because it shifts freedom and control away from the users to these software companies.

     @nixCraft I'm grateful the world is full of idiots:

     A) Look around for five minutes and you know people are basically kind of rotten/somewhat evil. To quote the Book of Mormon, "...the natural man is an enemy to God..." (Mosiah 3:19)

     B) Politicians show us what smart evil people inevitably do: try to take over the world, while trying to convince everyone it's a good thing.

     C) Therefore, if everyone was smart, they would ALL be fighting for control!

     Conclusion: Idiocy spares the world.

     @nixCraft This is all part of the big scheme. You build flawed software and then you provide long-year service to fix the issues. Just look at Microsoft, they excel in it. And the shreholders win.

     @nixCraft A few years ago I would agree with that statement, but things started to change in the other direction. Now it's a race for profitable unreliable software, sluggish and full of bugs which we've to pay to get rid of them... 😕

     Miss the old times when apps where made with passion and got nice Easter Eggs to find!
