Suquili (suquili@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 07-Jul-2024 08:32:02 JST Suquili @bleedingphoenix the wall between old and young with anime is interesting. my parents never understood the whole 'anime' and 'main-ga' thing when I was growing up. they still defer to me about pokemon and shit. every year during the Macy's Thanksgiving parade they see the Goku float and ask me if Dragon Ball Z is still going lol.
For them they still have a mild resentment toward Japs whether it was lingering from WWII or the times when they manufactured all our shit. My dad was taken aback that I rented a book about WWII written from a Japanese guy's perspective. Like he borderline took offense to it lol. For us Zoomers it doesn't occur to us that America ever had friction with JapanKenny Blankenship likes this. -

It's a total act, because his dad probably didn't even fight in the war to begin with.
Maybe grandpa held a grudge because he lost his job making VCR's in 1985, damn panasonic. But the boomer today was born fifteen to twenty years postwar, it's a total affectation
