     I had the same experience in school.

     To this day :wq is the only Vi ( I went to school a long time ago ) command I remember.

     @nixCraft CTRL+Z, followed by using 'ps -A |grep vi' to get the process number of vi. Next, use the 'kill' command to get rid of that process. Proceed to 'kill -9' if it refuses to go away.

     @nixCraft This is funny! I've been using Vim off and on for maybe a year and I had to look up tutorials about how to do certain things b/c I couldn't remember. Then I read an article about vimtutor, an built-in tool to teach you the basics of the program and it was very helpful. After doing that I moved through the program faster without any mistakes, unlike nearly every other time I've tried to use it! Just type 'vimtutor' and it will start! #vim #computersarehard #texteditor #vimtutor
