     @nixCraft It was high school and i made a scoring system in Turbo Pascal for various silly games that here scores neede to be kept. It was a huge failure. Nothing worked when we did the demo for the party committee. They didn’t like it and ended up never using it even after we addressed the many shortcomings. It was a humbling experience 🥸

     @nixCraft It was a gambling game of some sort, I think a roulette simulator. Written in BASIC on a DEC PDP (11?) back about August or September of 1977. Whatever I was using for documentation did a shit job of demonstrating how to declare an array.

     In 1974, when I was a junior in high-school, I wrote a program for the school registrar to calculate student GPAs. That was the first program I ever wrote for someone else to use.

     The registrar used the same program the following year, when I was a senior.

     To be clear, I wrote the program that calculated the GPA that appears on my own high-school transcript.

     @nixCraft An HTML-editor with live preview. Killer feature was that you didn’t need to know the tags, but could push buttons to create elements. It was in Visual Basic in the year 2000. My last year of secondary school.

     @nixCraft The first real project that I remember was writing ARexx scripts on my Amiga to control Personal Paint and make custom LED matrix sign GIFs for my website. No way could I afford a PC and the ~£30 software package that was the alternative option.

     There is still an example online here as I resurrected my old Geocities site a little while back.
