Wanna hear an absolutely unhinged story?
Here in the state of Yucatán they had suffered from a drought for years, gov was so desperate they decided to build a Poseidón statue and put it in the beach
This was at the end of may too so imagine everyones reaction now that the entire country is drowning in rains and hurricanes which all started a few weeks after this statue was built :kekw:

@rlier23 >Asking a greek god for moderated thing
That is what one gets learning from tv and pop "culture"
-
@Lavaearth i mean, it worked better than praying for the aztec god of rain lmao
-
@rlier23 they are so desperate that they would rather pray to a greek god than to those of their own culture

@hispanicweeb well of anything at least Poseidón answered
-
@rlier23 >Rebel against the true and living God by practicing unironic idolatry
>God gives an ironic punishment
Lesson: Don't test God, people.
-
@SuperSnekFriend @rlier23 is it really punishment if it gives them something they do desperately wanted? :zt_think:
-
@luithe @rlier23 The punishment is giving them what the want to the point where what they want harms them or destroys them, to show that the first priority in all things is to and for the Lord and not for rain, food, love, and other lesser things. We see this in the Bible with the Israelites and the quail, which they were already receiving in smaller quantities (Exodus 16:13, Numbers 11).
