     @bleedingphoenix @TornadoOfTerror It’s pretty normal for studios to go back and forth between money making projects and passion projects that are unlikely to make a profit on their own. Shaft does this by regularly pumping out madokaslop to fund new artsy fartsy monogatari series. In this case it’s a gimmie since suicide squad will have made them money whether or not it’s a hit since they’re probably getting a good lump sum from Warner brothers regardless of sales.
