   @FeelsOttoMan Fact. Playback will be replaced by realtime generation. All games that want to be absolutely photorealistic - to the point where if John Wayne is a character he will be so convincing his best friend would be fooled (if he were alive to see it) - will be, and probably displayed on panoramic wall screens ala Bradbury's The Veldt.

     @TeaTootler In 2008 the one petaflop Roadrunner supercomputer cost $100 million and filled a building.
     
     In 2020 2.5 petaflops cost $149,000 and fit in a tower computer that plugged into a standard socket.
