   There’s shortened versions of keys that Damus uses as well as nip-05 identifiers also could encode the key to something more efficient than hex

     @anemone @eris @Moon nip05 is just an alias but the server has to return your key from a well-known endpoint for it to be valid.

     @eris it's a public key basically, since there's no other shorter unique info to link to a nostr account
